0: Prepare for Iceland

Welcome to the first step of your vacation, the preparation before actually going there. We trust you have booked your Camper Iceland vehicle with www.campericeland.is or your whole trip with www.iceland.ch

Plan the next step

Have you checked your booking confirmation.

  1. Does the vehicle pick up time and date mach your flight schedule
  2. Have you booked all Extras
  3. Have you booked a shuttle from the airport to the rental station

Plan your trip

Read our travel Information and plan your trip accordingly. The Link can be found here. There is also a car atlas for smart phones that could be interesting to use, find it here. We highly reccomend driving between 0-200Km per day. More then that will just be stressful and you miss out being in the nature. Hiking to the rivers and water falls is a unique experience.

Get to know your vehicle

We have a section with instruction videos. Make sure to watch it before you come to Iceland. Look at the vehicle you booked and the similar once in case you get upgraded. Here are our instruction videos. If you have rented a 4×4 vehicle make sure you read our 4×4 manual

What to bring

We Icelanders have a easy going culture. There is hardly a dress code unless you want to meet the president. What we do is wear a pair of Jeans, a fleece jacket (we think we have the best brands 66N, Cintamani etc.) and when it gets really cold a hat and gloves will be added. Plus we have something called “Kuldagalli”. This is a rainproof overall that feels like wearing a sleeping bag. Iceland will have all weathers when you go there, so do not forget to pack short pants, swimming gear, hiking pants and warm jacket.
